Bryan Hawkins

Senior Accident Reconstructionist

Bryan Hawkins began his law enforcement career with the DeKalb County Police Department in March of 1993.  He retired with 26 years of service during which he spent 15 years assigned to the Traffic Specialist Unit within the Special Operations Division of DeKalb County Police as a Senior Accident Reconstructionist.  While assigned to this unit he completed all the accident reconstruction and investigation courses offered by the State of Georgia and has been certified by the State of Georgia as an Accident Reconstruction Specialist. 

The Traffic Specialists Unit is responsible for investigating all hit and run, serious injury and fatal vehicle accidents in the unincorporated area of DeKalb County.  Prior to this assignment in 1996 he was assigned to the Commercial Vehicle Enforcement Unit, where he spent six years enforcing Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) laws along with state laws regarding the safe operation of commerical motor vehicles in DeKalb County.  He was CVSA Certified in the North American Standard for Level I, II & III inspections along with Cargo Tank and Harzardous Material enforcement.  

During his law enforcement career Mr. Hawkins investigated over 5,500 vehicle accidents to include assisting in the reconstruction of over 950 serious injury and fatal vehicle crashes.  Mr. Hawkins is also qualified in Crash Data Retrieval systems and has been recognized as an expert in the field of accident reconstruction.  In addition, Mr. Hawkins also maintains a valid Georgia Commercial Driver's License, CDL, with endorsements.
