John Harrison is a retired Captain from the Georgia Department of Public Safety—Motor Carrier Compliance Division. Captain Harrison brings to CSI more than 30 years of experience in the fields of Motor Carrier Safety, Hazardous Material Transportation, and Trucking Regulatory Enforcement.
Harrison is a Past-President of the Commercial Vehicle Safety Alliance (CVSA), former adjunct instructor for the USDOT—Transportation Safety Institute, and former program manager for the State of Georgia State/FMCSA compliance review program.
His accomplishments include the honor of testifying before the U.S. Senate and U.S. House of Representatives as an expert on various motor carrier safety issues. He is a recipient of the prestigious Georgia Governor’s Public Safety Award for his extensive contributions to the field of motor carrier safety.
Harrison has extensive knowledge of and has drafted laws and regulations subsequently enacted by the Georgia General Assembly and regulatory agencies.
Captain Harrison has published numerous articles relating to commercial motor vehicles (CMVs) and motor carrier safety.
